HYGIENE AND AIR POLISH

The job of the dental hygienist is to professionally clean your teeth, ensuring that your mouth is fresh, healthy and free from tartar. Even with the best brushing routine at home it is impossible to stop the gradual build-up of plaque on your teeth- which continues daily. Without the regular removal of this tartar layer you are at a higher risk of developing gum disease.

Combined with a good oral hygiene routine – brushing and flossing twice a day – regular trips to the hygienist in between dental appointments are the best way of ensuring that your teeth stay healthy and strong.

After carrying out extensive research on the various options available, at CBC Dental Studio we have decided to offer a carefully selected tray-based tooth bleaching system called POLA. This advanced system offers the choice of either their ‘PolaDay’ or ‘PolaNight’ selections, according to the users’ personal lifestyle, preference and suitability.

WHITE FILLINGS

dental-implants.png

White fillings are exactly what the name implies and the only real option if you want your teeth to retain a natural look once filled. Your silver - or 'amalgam' - fillings can be easily replaced with white fillings.

Not many people are lucky enough to escape the need for a filling at some point in their lives, but escaping the old silver amalgam solution is now easier than ever. Once considered less durable than amalgam, the technology is continually improving and is now at the point where white fillings can be considered as tough as amalgam, even for use in the back of the mouth where the stresses can be high.

Painless and quick to apply (just one visit for most treatments), the ubiquitous ‘filling’ can be one of the most effective treatments in the dentist’s armoury.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental-Implant.jpg

For the permanent replacement of missing teeth, implants are a solution that provides a permanent fixing point for a crown, bridge or denture. Once fitted, these will be indistinguishable from a real tooth in terms of cosmetic appearance and day-to-day maintenance.

There are many advantages to an implant; including, aesthetics, hygiene, function and reduction in bone loss, which all make the procedure well worth consideration. Our specialist will be happy to fully discuss all areas of the procedure to you.

Do not let the loss of a tooth deny you the cosmetic and physical benefits of a full set of ‘pearly whites’. Simply make an appointment with us to discuss the treatment in a relaxed and friendly environment.

TEETH STRAIGHTENING/ORTHODONTICS

Only a few people are lucky enough to have a perfect smile by nature and it is a big part of our everyday life. Nice, healthy smiles give us an opportunity to make this good first impression, which we can never repeat. It brings us self-confidence, which is essential for being able to achieve greater things. Nowadays it is possible to obtain this smile easily and painlessly with using braces.

At CBC Dental Studio we offer a number of orthodontic options depending on the complexity and nature of your case, including Invisalign. â€‹

Invisalign braces uses a series of removable aligners to move your teeth gradually and gently into the desired position. Comfortable, clear and removable – Invisalign transforms your smile without interrupting your life. Something that over 3 million people worldwide have already discovered.

Traditional metal braces are the original method of orthodontic treatment. They are made up of three key parts: small metal brackets which are bonded to the front surface of your teeth, thin metal archwires which connect these brackets, and small elastic bands (ligatures) which are placed around the brackets. These parts work together to apply gentle pressure to your teeth to move them into position.

Ceramic braces work the same way as traditional metal braces do, but are more cosmetically pleasing. This is because the brackets are made from clear ceramic so aren’t as noticeable against the natural colour of your teeth. Ceramic braces are strong and come off easily at the end of treatment. The clear elastics on the brackets may stain if you regularly drink coffee, tea, red wine or even eat some meals, so we recommend you rinse your mouth regularly.

Damon braces

Damon braces London are a modern orthodontic appliance used to straighten teeth. They consist of high-technology metal or ceramic brackets and an arch wire, similar to conventional braces, but lighter. The Damon system uses state-of-the-art low-friction technology to allow movement of teeth quickly but gently, allowing you to achieve your perfect smile painlessly.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

AdobeStock_110692767.jpeg

Many people experience some confusion regarding which dental treatments are considered as ‘cosmetic’. Well the term cosmetic in regards to dentistry refers to the improvement of the colour, shape or arrangement of teeth, in order for the smile to be enhanced in the eyes of the beholder. Therefore, cosmetic dental procedures include a range of treatments with the ultimate objective of assisting the patient in creating their ‘optimum smile’.

A few common example of cosmetic dental procedures include veneers, metal free (white) crowns, composite bonding of tooth-coloured fillings and teeth whitening. The decision to undergo any of these treatments has been proven to be a positive and life-affirming one for many. Not only do they serve to benefit your physical appearance massively, but can also advantage the patient medically, in terms of function and longevity of teeth and psychologically to enhance the patients’ confidence and self-esteem.

INLAYS AND ONLAYS

Used to restore decayed teeth, dental inlays and onlays may be described as a compromise between a filling and a crown in terms of the surface area of tooth that is treated. Once again, the relative merits of ceramic, composite resins, zirconia or gold can be discussed with Dr. Meskhi.

Generally used to treat larger areas than a simple filling, they can also be placed on teeth that have suffered some degree of damage, such as fracturing. Other advantages over fillings includes the fact that more of your tooth tends to be retained and research suggests that the tooth can be strengthened by up to 75% by this work.

The procedure itself is simple, quick and not unlike the experience you may have had with a dental filling. The process takes place in two stages. On the first visit, any decay is removed, the tooth is shaped and the inlay/onlay moulding material applied to ensure a perfect impression of the underlying, prepared tooth. The final production process will be completed in a dental laboratory and it is on your second visit to Dr. Meskhi that the inlay/onlay is permanently bonded and ‘finished’ by polishing.

Dr. Meskhi will achieve cosmetically pleasing and long-lasting results with this method and, as always, your comfort and satisfaction are paramount.

VENEERS

diamant_dent_veneer.jpg

Dental veneers are the most practical way of producing that winning look and getting the smile of your dreams. Made of laminates of porcelain (the strongest type) or other hard-wearing composite materials, our expertly crafted veneers are permanently bonded to your own teeth in order to correct a number of problems. Veneers are the quickest and most effective method of creating perfectly proportioned teeth, the like of which occur naturally in just a lucky few!

Whether it be gaps that have bothered you for many years, severe staining that cannot be removed by standard methods or to correct damaged or crooked teeth when orthodontics or braces are not desirable, veneers can be both the best and most cost-effective answer.

Given that a veneer can actually improve the strength and integrity of your natural tooth, allow Dr. Meskhi to subtly improve the colour and uniformity of your teeth. There are few other dental treatments that are this pleasing to produce.

CROWNS

A dental crown is best described (and sometimes known) as a ‘Cap’. These restorations are placed over an existing tooth that has deteriorated to the point where its appearance, strength or overall integrity has been compromised. Once cemented in place the Crown encases the entire visible portion of the tooth and restores the tooth in both an aesthetic and functional way.

If you require a ceramic crown then we will use CEREC technology to map your tooth structure, to produce models of your teeth and to fabricate crown within an hour.

In case you need a metal or ceramic based on a metal crown, we will send the impressions to the special laboratory. During the one to two weeks, it takes for the crown to be manufactured, you will be fitted with a temporary crown to allow normal functioning during the wait. Once ready, the permanent crown will be carefully fitted to ensure a comfortable fit that feels as good as it looks.

BRIDGES

AdobeStock_198830090.jpeg

Dental bridges, or fixed removable dentures are designed and fitted to replace missing teeth and are one of the most common dental procedures. Essentially a false tooth (also called a pontic) with crowns either side that lock the bridge into place, they can be supported by either your natural teeth or (if required) implants. The pontic itself can be formed from porcelain, alloys or gold, zirconia or a combination of these materials.

There are different types of bridge available in dentistry dependent on the condition and the gap that needs ‘bridging’. This is a flexible solution that Dr. Meskhi will be happy to discuss with you, before advising on the correct one, based on his experience and knowledge.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Also known as endodontics, root canal therapy is a treatment for an infection in the root canal system or ‘centre’ of the tooth.

Your tooth is made up of the outer enamel, a hard layer called dentine and (right at the centre) a soft tissue known as pulp. Injury or trauma to a tooth, together with leaking fillings or tooth decay can all lead to infection of the ‘pulp’ in the root system which will necessitate treatment to keep the tooth.

Modern treatment methods have transformed the science of endodontics and all options will be considered and discussed by our specialist after a thorough examination.

We apply a number of different techniques to root canal treatment, which will, in any case, begin with the removal of the infected pulp before thoroughly cleaning the canal and applying a medicated solution to ensure all bacteria are dealt with. Antibiotics may be prescribed where an abscess has developed. Filling of the vacated root area with an inert material is intended to prevent re-infection and to stabilise the void.

DENTURES

AdobeStock_224358102.jpeg

Dentures can be of either the “partial” or “complete” type and the difference is self-explanatory. The problems caused by missing teeth (shifting of adjacent teeth leading to bone loss, for example) can be prevented by employing a partial denture, whilst total tooth loss across a single arch will necessitate a complete set.

Suction alone is generally enough to hold the teeth in place, although fixative and/or implants can be employed in certain circumstances.

The first stage when considering fitment is for Dr. Meskhi to assess the condition of the arch and the need for any extraction of teeth, or treatment to ready the gums to accept the dentures.

The denture-making process itself involves making an impression of the ridges on which the dentures will sit and submitting this to the manufacturer. In the period between your visits you may be provided with a temporary fitment, known as an ‘immediate denture’ which allows any healing of the gums to take place and obviously provides a good degree of usability.

Do not let the loss of your natural teeth lead to a reduction in your confidence or enjoyment of life. Instead, allow Dr. Meskhi to boost your confidence with a solution that only you need ever know about.

THE WAND STA

For some patients, visiting the dentist surgery alone can be daunting without even having any treatments. So the thought of having an injection (which can be very uncomfortable and painful) can make some patients feel extremely uneasy and anxious. However, thanks to new technology delivered by The Wand STA (Single Tooth Anaesthesia), such feelings can be completely avoided with this pain free equipment.

The Wand STA device, which Dr Meskhi is pleased to offer to his patients, a renowned and intelligent system, which enables dentists to painlessly numbed anaesthetic with very acute precision and accuracy. It is easy to administer and with such accurate results, it leads way to more rapid anaesthesia. With its unique hand piece, a dentist can minimise tissue damage and ensure only the area needing treatment is numbed without affecting patients’ lips and face. Therefore, patients can return to their normal routine once treatment is complete, which is significantly important in today’s fast paced lifestyle.
